KTM built the KTM FREERIDE E as a street-legal electric off-road machine. Because it is light, agile and nearly silent, it lets you take on trails that gas-powered bikes can't reach. Torque arrives instantly from its all-electric drivetrain, and a swappable 5.5 kWh battery delivers up to three hours of ride time.
- Electric drivetrain: A 50.4 V PMSM motor, sealed against water and dust, produces 19.2 kW at peak, 8.3 kW of rated output and 37.6 Nm of torque, and the bike tops out at 59 mph.
- Ride modes and recuperation: A four-button switch cube on the left side of the handlebar selects every setting: three ride modes, plus OFF, MID and HIGH regeneration levels.
- Interchangeable battery: Removing the IP67-rated MX50 lithium-ion pack takes less than 10 minutes, and the pack is good for over 1,000 charge cycles.
- 660 W charger: Plugged into household power, it fully recharges the battery in roughly 8 hours.
- Lightweight chassis: The chrome-moly steel frame wraps around the motor and battery, holding the center of gravity low.
- WP suspension: Up front sits a 43 mm WP XACT fork with a split design, paired with a fully adjustable WP XPLOR PDS shock at the rear.
- Handlebar-mounted brakes: Hand levers operate both BRAKTEC discs, a 260 mm unit in front and a 220 mm unit in back.
- Rider aids: An LCD dashboard, plus a roll-over sensor that shuts off power should the bike tip over.
